FAQ’s

Your questions answered

  • You have to be 19+ to be able to get onto our courses. If you are from Bury, Stockport or Tameside, you come under the GMCA rules and have to be 24+ and unemployed to register for our courses.

  • We deliver basic level courses starting from Entry level 1 to Entry level 3 in English and Maths as part of our Everyday English course.

We also cover Employability skills at Entry level 3 and level 1 to help people prepare and to get them ready for the world of work. We actively work with learners to get them into work.

  • Our Everyday English course runs for 12 weeks with attendance of two days a week (morning or afternoon session). This can change depending on the number of days covered in a week

Our employability course runs over 4 weeks, with two days of attendance.

  • Once you have made contact with us (either by visiting one of our venues or through our website), a team member will invite you in to one of our venues to have a chat about the course.

You will then complete an assessment. This allows us to see what level your skills are currently at so that we can organise the right level class for you.

  • A date will be given for you to start which is usually within a 2-3 weeks period. In some cases it is an immediate start. The tutor assigned to you will make contact and inform you about your course start date and days and times of attendance.

  • We normally invite you to a venue to meet the tutor and have a chat. This way we are able to establish what and why you would like to study a course, followed up by an assessment. If for any reason it is difficult for you to attend, we can do an assessment with you on an online video call.

  • The government has made funding available for people to improve their skills and/or make themselves ready for employment opportunities. So it does not cost you a penny!

The only thing required is that once you decide to start a course, is to commit to the timetable and complete your course with your tutor.

For the employability course, you must be on benefits to do this course, which must be evidenced, e.g Universal credit.

As a training organisation we work with this funding, making these opportunities accessible and available at a local level for you.

  • We deliver courses in select areas where we can use government funding for. We have two main areas where we operate in which are:

    Lancashire: Burnley & Nelson

Greater Manchester: Bury, Salford, Stockport, Tameside & Trafford.

In future, there can be more areas added to this.

  • Classes are based in local venues in the areas we operate in (see above answer).

We deliver face to face in a class environment. We believe this is the best way to learn.

We also have an option of doing one day in class and one day online, which works better for some people.

  • Unfortunately we do not have any such arrangements.

If you have children in your care and would find it difficult to attend a course, you can have a chat with a tutor who can discuss online learning options with you so that you are able to balance your course commitments and family life.

We are here to help you to achieve your goals.

  • We have a team of qualified teachers who have years of experience in delivering our suite of courses. You will be assigned a tutor, depending on the area you are from and will be made part of a class with that tutor.

We have a high female learner intake in some areas we operate in. Where requested, we have arranged a female Tutor for classes.

  • There are two sessions that we run on each course. Each session is for a certain level of learning. The morning session runs from 09.30 - 12.00 and an afternoon session from 12.30 to 15.00.

  • Yes you can! Once you have completed one level of your course, you can progress onto the next level which your Tutor will organise for you.

  • On successful completion of final assessments and the course, you will get an accredited certificate, directly posted out to your home address.

Our courses are accredited by the examining body Pearsons Edexcel examining board.

  • Exams and assessments are certified through Pearsons Edexcel examining board.
